Good Wife-- glad to know I'm not the only one who can't get fannish. I like the show, but it's just to procedural-ish for me to get excited about. Although I LUV that guy from Dead Poets' Society and have have a crush on him for years.
I hear True Blood's just gone downhill. I stuck with it through S2 but haven't watched it since.
And yes, you never get over the one true love. I find myself kinda pining for BSG lately. Not sure what that means, but I think it deserves more thought...

And Fringe... Well, I like it but for very different reasons, heee. It’s got intrigue, mystery, crazy-twists and (sometimes) actual character development. The show definitely has flaws and many plot holes for my taste, but it's pretty addictive and I am actually pretty excited about S4!

Oh, and I just read Tana French's first book....it is AMAZING, but it broke my heart. It always breaks my heart when things end that way for friends, whether it's pilots in LDYB2, Mockingjay (though that was a bad book) or anyone else - sometimes it's sadder than romantic ships not sailing.
CLAMP never finished X? Really? I had no idea -but thanks God I never started this one :P

I hate THE scene in LDYB2 (I have always been a Kara girl, but that moment... Oh, how I wanted to slap her!). As for Mockingjay... I was sooo mad at Suzanne Collins for how she chose to deal with Katniss and Gale :((
Tana French's first book....it is AMAZING, but it broke my heart.
I have so much love for that book. Loved every minute of that read. And loved Rob and Cassie, their relationship is gorgeous. Yeah, the book broke my heart, but in the best possible way, I think. I just loved how Tana refused to close down the narrative in any easy way. It made the full story all the more bittersweet and haunting to me. (Also, I couldn't help but forgive Rob, particularly since he sufficiently redeemed himself in my eyes). I really hope she brings them back sooner or later, Cassie can't end up with doormat-ish Sam! (You should read "The Likeness", btw. It's awfully good as well).

And ugh, Mockingjay. The ship outcome was obvious from Book 1 (YA is mostly predictable), but the way it came about was just lazy. Though about Rob and Cassie, I couldn't help noticing that their relationship is very like that of pilots - something about the way Rob describes it, that seamlessness and tension - even though they're not individually that much like Lee and Kara (though Rob acts like Kara did after Unfinished Business). Must check out The Likeness now, thank you for the rec!

Me too. It took me two years to finally watch Daybreak, but I've made my peace with pilots' ending much the way Lee seemed to. Canon is canon (I can't ignore or deny it) and Kara deserved better than the 'special destiny' and poof, but that doesn't change the fact that it was an epic, beautiful, life-changing love that has now ruined me for shipping forever. Or maybe I just watch too many sad jmovies/kmovies where the girl dies.

Rob and Cassie, I couldn't help noticing that their relationship is very like that of pilots
Yeah, totally! I guess that’s why I got so caught up in their relationship. Their whole dynamic as BFF/colleagues/soulmates was very similar to K/L to me, although the sexual tension between them was far less obvious, I think. I even thought for a moment that Tana was going to stick to the “just friends” route and it seemed the right thing to do. But then she didn’t and I was all “I want them to be together!” Hee. And yeah, Rob totally pulled a Kara after his night with Cassie (so glad that at least, in the end, he realized what his feelings for Cassie were. It didn’t fix anything but, as a reader, I needed that he awknowledged that).
And The Likeness is such a great read! It deals with Cassie and her aftermath after Operation Vestal and all the Rob debacle. He never makes an actual appearance but his presence looms over everything she does and thinks. So heartbreaking but totally worth it!

ITA. Oh, pilots, you were the best. I swear that I don’t understand how I got so obsessed with them, but that’s the truth. They are the “it” to me when it comes to fictional couples. I still wish they had had a more emotionally satisfying/fitting ending, but the journey was totally worth it (That being said, I am not sure if I want to become so emotionally involved with some fictional characters ever again. I mean, it definitely was an interesting experience and it introduced me to fandom (and I am so grateful for that), but honestly, sometimes the whole thing bordered on the unhealthy. Lol Ok, and I better stop rambling!
ITA. By the end I didn't even care about the characters any more- Gale's ending only annoyed me because I have a thing about ruined friendships, and this was a specially sloppily-done one.
As for The Likeness, I just put in an order - I'm really interested in the perspective shift and the prospect of getting inside Cassie's head. I agree with you on Rob - I enjoyed him and Cassie while thinking "oh, it'll be one of those what-could-have-beens", and then it was, but so much more powerful and poignant for that.

Me neither! In all of my years in fandom before I encountered pilots, I'd been mostly indifferent to shipping. But after pilots, and their banter and not conforming to traditional gender roles and eyefrakking and friendship and total and complete love and sometimes scaredness too....every other couple on tv/film just seems so insipid and boring, they make me want to go all *eyeroll* at them. Maybe our love for this ship is like pilots for each other - sure, we might like other ships sometimes the way Lee and Kara did with Sam and Dee, but everything pales before the love of pilots :)

Entonces los libros de Tana French son una serie? No tenía ni idea, mejor que mejor, yo quiero un final decente entre Rob/Cassie y no la tragedia de Kara/Lee :(
La segunda temporada de The Good Wife es mejor que la primera! Esta serie es como de cocción lenta, la verdad. Cuesta un poquito entrar, pero una vez lo haces es adictiva!

Lo de Will y Alicia esta temporada tiene miga (y creo que te gustará! :D). Pero a mí ahora también me ha entrado el gusanillo con Kalinda y Cary! No tengo ni la más remota idea de qué van a hacer con ellos, peeeero los encuentro tan monos, utilizándose descaradamente (especialmente Kalinda) y al mismo tiempo no pudiendo dejar de preocuparse el uno por el otro... Sigh. Y luego tenemos a Kalinda y Alicia, que eso es otro ship en toda regla, jaja. Y a Diane y Will, y... ¡La verdad es que todos los personajes tienen un algo!
Entonces los libros de Tana French son una serie?
Te explico (atención al rollo infernal que te voy a meter, jaja). No sé si has leído mucho crimen, pero lo que pasa habitualmente en este género es que un autor empieza escribiendo a un personaje (un detective, policía o lo que sea), y le acaba dedicando unas cuantas novelas en las que habitualmente se dedica a 1) Resolver el caso de turno 2) Desarrollar un poco su vida personal. A mí este sistema me gusta mucho porque, si el autor lo hace bien y escribe casos interesantes, acabas enganchándote al personaje (suelen estar todos un poco torturados, je) y a su historia.
Tana French, sin embargo, ha optado por una cosa distinta; lo lógico hubiera sido que, tras "In the Woods", hubiera seguido escribiendo sobre Rob y sus andanzas. A mí no me hubiera importado para nada (Rob me fascina y I love him). Pero a ella le parecía un poco forzado, teniendo en cuenta el final del personaje en el primer libro. Así que ha optado por seguir otro sistema: cada una de sus novelas está protagonizada por un personaje distinto, todos ellos relacionados con el departamento de Homicidios (de ahí lo de "Dublin Murder Squad"). La segunda novela, "The Likeness" (que aquí han titulado, muy acertadamente creo, "En piel ajena"), está protagonizada por Cassie y situada tres meses después de "In the Woods" (no es una secuela en toda regla, pero casi, casi). El tercer libro, "Faithful Place" (también muy bueno, por cierto) está protagonizado por el antiguo jefe undercover de Cassie (que aparece en "the Likeness"). Y el cuarto (que saldrá dentro de poco) estará protagonizado por otro detective de Murder que aparece en "Faithful Place"... Como puedes ver, el patrón está claro. De todas formas, la autora ha repetido hasta la saciedad que tiene intención de volver a Rob (y a Cassie) en algún punto no demasiado lejano y continuar su historia. Sinceramente, espero que lo haga porque... CASSIE NO PUEDE CASARSE CON SAM!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO! Rob tiene que encontrar un poco de paz! (me da tanta pena! Sniff). Y Cassie y Rob TIENEN que reconciliarse! (ya sé que en la vida real este tipo de historias acaban así. Pero esto es ficción, for the fuck sake, y Rob y Cassie son soulmates y están enamorados!! (sí, yo lo veo así y lo creo firmemente ;P). No digo que quiera un final perro-casa-niño, pero... necesito algo más!).
(por cierto, sigo insistiendo en que "En piel ajena" es muy recomendable. Como todo lo que escribe Tana, es agridulce --más bien tirando a "agrio", jaja-- pero... Cassie es una narradora fantástica y el caso es... GUH. Genial y maravilloso, si logras tragarte la premisa surrealista, eso sí. (Lo peor del libro es Sam en el papel de novio entregado, pero bueno, I can deal with that, je).

Kalinda y Cary! Sabía que había algo, veremos a ver que hacen porque ALGO hay. Los personajes son geniales en su mayoría y no diré que Will no me gusta (imposible con esa super-tensión-sexual-no-resuelta-en-el-ambiente) pero me parece un poco capullo a veces(?).
Sobre crimen leí uno de la Camila Lackberg, ya te conté, y luego sacó más sobre la misma detective pero pasé porque el que leí no me gustó nada. Así que con eso me hago una idea de lo que me dices sobre la series policiacas y la verdad pienso que con esa idea de usar al mismo personaje siempre se les va la magia en el primer libro, a no ser que el caso sea muuuy bueno, que lo dudo mucho.
"CASSIE NO PUEDE CASARSE CON SAM!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!" ---> TOTALEMENTE DE ACUERDO. Ese final ME MATÓ.

Pues entonces fijo fijisimo que me lo leo y me veo enganchada a la serie ya mismo porque yo también quiero saber que narices pasa! Y también me imagino que los demás libros de otros personajes tendrán algún ship o algo interesantillo. Me ha encantado, de verdad, desde la primera página, excelente recomendación, la manera de escribir de la autora es muy especial y no había leído nada parecido antes: genialoso :)

No me extraña, es que Will tiene una moral muy cuestionable... Pero es una cosa que me gusta de los personajes de esta serie: todos (hasta Alicia, que parece una mosquita muerta pero NO) tienen sus puntos oscuros :D

Es que ese es muy malooooooo!!! Y no es crimen, eso es romance camuflado de crimen. Puajjjjj! (por cierto, si te apetece cotillear, aquí te enlazo la entrada incendiaria que le dediqué en el blog de mi novio hace un tiempecillo :)). En serio, hay cosas por ahí mucho mejores. (Por cierto, aún tengo que leerme el libro que me recomendaste, ¡es que está súper agotado! Me lo voy a tener que pillar por Amazon, creo. Me llamó mucho la atención la trama...).

Pues lo que te espera! Jaja. Sinceramente, cuando lo leí en "In the Woods" me quedé helada (¡aunque la llamada telefónica me encantó! "I love you, Cass". Awwwww. POR FINNNNNN.). Pero me pareció un poco OOC por parte de Cassie prometerse (nada menos!) com Sam tras seis meses desde el final del caso... aunque puedo entender lo de la opción "safe and easy" y el efecto rebote, tras el mazazo que se lleva con Rob :( (en "The Likeness" desarrollan este tema, así que ya lo verás).

Es buenísima. Y eso que con la traducción pierde, creo (me los he mirado en castellano porque se los regalé a mi madre). En inglés es sencillamente tremenda. Me encanta que su estilo es tan vivído y literario, casi poético a ratos. Hay trozos en los que tenía que parar y suspirar un rato, jaja. Además, la tía tiene un dominio a la hora de trabajar a los personajes y sus relaciones bastante impresionante (en plot me falla un poco más, ¡pero se lo perdono!). Estoy segura de que "The Likeness" te gustará... es muy del palo del primero :)
Sobre el de Camila Lackberg, no es ni romance camuflado de crimen, es BAZOFIA, lo leí por recomendación y ya no me vuelvo a fiar mas xD

Dennis Lehane y Mo Hayder para echarles un ojo más adelante
¡Mo Hayder es la leche! En serio, buenísima, creo que sus dos primeros libros sobre el detective Jack Caffery son de lo mejor que he leido de crimen hasta ahora (a Tana French no la cuento porque no creo que realmente escriba crimen, je). Es una autora realmente gore, pero se nota que está súper documentada en temas de investigación policial, y es muy buena a nivel de desarrollo de personajes -Jack es genial <3, y su historia personal es una parte importantísima de la trama-. El problema es que creo que solo han publicado uno de sus libros en castellano (concretamente el primero, "Birdman" --que aquí tradujeron como "El latido del pájaro"--. Estuve investigando porque, again, se los quería hacer leer a mi madre y... :(). Y hace milenios, además. A ver si los de RBA se animan y publican a esta autora en su serie negra, porque merece muy mucho la pena.
El blog en realidad es de mi novio, pero yo le escribo entradas de tanto en tanto en plan "guest star", cuando el pobre está demasiado ocupado para actualizar. De todas formas (no por nada), es un blog bastante chulo si te gusta el frikeo general... ¡y está bien escrito! (no por nada, pero te encuentras cada cosa por ahí...).
"Cada siete olas" está bien. No me lo compraría ni loca, pero si te lo puedes sacar de la biblio... Es un poco más de lo mismo, pero a mí me hizo pasar un buen rato y se lee en nada --y oye, aunque me quedo con el final del primero, por realista, tampoco me molestó mucho el final súper edulcorado del segundo... Yo me lo tomo como el AU feliz, y tan contentos xD
Sí, si le eché un vistazo general al blog y también me moló, sobre pelis y demás, que nunca viene mal saber la verdad y no las criticas alabadoras que mayormente abundan... ¬¬

Están sacando un montón de material y, la verdad, casi todo bastante bueno (Creo que son los que han publicado "El silencio del bosque" y "En piel ajena", sin ir más lejos --y espero que hagan lo mismo con "Faithful Place"--. Y han publicado a algunos autores nórdicos, pero NO son los que publican a Camila!! Eso dice mucho sobre su buen gusto y buen hacer, creo yo xD).

(y eso que dicen que es el mejor que tiene). Sé que hay una edición de Anagrama por ahí, pero no la tienen en ningún sitio. Sigh. Prefería leerlo en castellano, la verdad (a pesar de que a veces las traducciones son TERRIBLES y suenan extrañas) pero a este paso voy a tener que pedírmelo por Amazon...
"Una investigación filosófica" yo lo tengo de Anagrama, y ya recuerdo que en su época me costó un poco encontrarlo. Es "un poco" fuertecillo a veces, pero no mucho, lo justo que admito xD
